The Bridge gaming awareness program will empower you as a teacher to take every student in class on a discovery tour of gaming – the joys, the risks and the tricks behind the action.

Developed by Kids Thrive artists, industry experts with teachers for teachers The Bridge offers quality learning materials with intuitive lesson structure for easy use in the classroom.

As a teacher you can construct your own lessons from the available menu to fully engage your cohort.

What’s included? 

  • Animated videos (3-5 mins each)
  • Engaging discussion starter sessions (15-20 mins each)

  • Fun kinaesthetic learning activities (30-60 mins each)

  • Activity guides and worksheets
  • Background information including simple explanations of key terms and concepts
  • Lesson plans with links to Victorian curriculum domains (levels 5 and 6)
  • Strategies for managing gaming and keeping kids safe

Materials are delivered online for whole of class use with downloadable PDF format for teacher guide and class set printing.

What will your students learn? 

Students will immerse themselves in memorable learning to develop personal strategies to keep gaming safe and fun.

They can come to understand:

  • How games play tricks to keep us playing longer and spending more
  • The ways gaming affects our brains making it hard to stop
  • How excessive gaming can affect our health and wellbeing
  • The elements in games (such as loot boxes and social casinos) that can lead to financial losses and familiarity with gambling.
